Here’s some of the most frequently asked questions asked about Monument and Globalcote’s range of Colorbond roof paints and coatings.
Does Colorbond Monument look black or grey?
Colorbond Monument is neither true black nor true grey but instead has its own unique hue that combines aspects from both colours.
Is Monument a cool or warm color?
Colorbond Monument is a deep and dark charcoal grey with a hint of blue. This makes it quite difficult to classify as either cool or warm, due to its subtle complexity.
Can I get Monument in a heat reflective roof paint?
Yes! You can buy Monument in a heat reflective paint from Globalcote.
It is recommended to repaint it with Globalcote Infracote product which offers a higher TSR (Total Solar reflective) that will reflect heat away.
While lighter colours tend to reflect more heat (white reflects the sun’s rays while black will absorb them), if your heart is set on a deep shade like Monument we would recommend opting for Globalcote’s Infracote range.
Globalcote’s Infracote Tribute (the same shade as Colorbond’s Monument) has a total solar reflectance (TSR) of up to 26.9 compared to just 7.3% in our Elastacote product.
What colour goes best with Monument?
Monument is a classic and timeless colour that easily complements any decor. It has a subtle grey undertone, making it the perfect backdrop for a variety of different colours including rich jewel tones, such as emerald green or sapphire blue.
For a calmer and more modern look, try pairing Monument with shades of powdery pastels like blush or lavender. Soft whites can also be used for contrast and balance.
What finishes is Colorbond Monument best paired with?
Colorbond flooring harmonizes seamlessly with rich wood colours and textures, crisp whites, and silvery greys.
