Globalcote Roof Coating Products Explained
1. Roof Preparation Products
A. Prepcote – Surface Treatment
What is it?
Prepcote is a product which is the first to be applied (after you’ve determined that your surface is sound and clean). It forms a barrier to ensure your surfaces looks great for years, as well as prevent the growth of moss, lichen or fungi.
Who is it suitable for?
Applying Prepcote is an essential step in all roof restoration/painting settings. It can be used on various substrates.
B. Globalpoint – Flexible Roof Pointing
What is it?
Globalpoint is a flexible pointing compound which has been pre-coloured and pre-mixed for your convenience.
This premium product which works to eliminate leaking ridges and discoloured pointing, it also waterproofs the key tile joints and is fade resistant.
Who is it suitable for?
This product can be used to repoint concrete or terracotta ridge capping. It is it be applied with a trowel.
2. Primecote Primers & Sealers
At Globalcote, we have four (4) different types of Primecote Sealer/Primers. Priming and sealing your surface is an important part of the roof coating process, and using our Primecote products will strengthen the adhesion of our top coats.
Our primers and sealers are 100% acrylic, as well as easy to apply and clean up.
A. Primecote Standard
Who is it suitable for?
Our standard option has a high resin content which makes it suitable for a range of substrates, including:

- Metal roof surfaces such as zincalume and Colorbond®

- Concrete roof surfaces
- Unglazed terracotta roof tiles

Number of coats required?
Minimum of 1.
B. Primecote High Build
Who is it suitable for?
The High Build version is the best option for those who are sealing and priming extremely porous tile roof surfaces.
Number of coats required?
Minimum of 1.
C. Primecote Metal
Who is it suitable for?
This option is designed for metal roof surfaces and includes a flash rust inhibitor, to suppress rust growth.
It can be used when applying Infracote, Elastacote, or any Elements (exterior paint) products.
Number of coats required?
Number of Coats 1 – 2. Two (2) coats are required over rust converted areas.
3. Roof Membranes
A. Infracote Membrane
What is it?
Infracote membrane is a water-based coating which is 100% acrylic and comes in both high gloss and mid lustre gloss levels.
It incorporates infrared reflective coating that reflects radiation, reduces heat penetration, cooling costs and your carbon footprint – so it’s truly an ideal product for the unpredictable and sometimes severe Australian weather.

B. Elastacote Membrane
What is it?
Elastacote membrane is a durable colour fast coating system that is water-based and 100% acrylic. Elastacote comes in both a high gloss and mid lustre finish. As with all of Globalcote’s superior coatings, this membrane has been specifically formulated to ensure it can protect domestic and commercial surface for many years.
What are roof membranes suitable for?
Both of our roof membranes, Infracote and Elastacote, can be applied to the below surfaces once they’ve been adequately prepared and sealed:
