Are you making some improvements to your tiled roof or building from scratch and wondering what is flexible roof pointing and do you really need to use it?
In our latest blog, we aim to answer those questions for you.
At Globalcote, we are a local company which specialises in developing high-quality exterior coatings to suit the Australian climate.
Globalcote’s Globalpoint Flexible Pointing System
Flexible roof pointing refers to a flexible pointing compound that’s used on a tiled roof to fix and seal the ridge cap to the roof tile for both new builds and roof refurbishments.
Due to the compound’s flexible nature, Globalpoint Flexible Pointing System will expand and contract to move with the roof, and thus is likely to last longer than other types of pointing materials, such as mortar.
At Globalcote, we can tint the compound to match the colour of your roof paint, as our pointing system is premixed and pre-coloured.
The trowel-applied Globalpoint Flexible Pointing System is also fade-resistant.
Other Benefits of the Globalpoint Flexible Pointing System
Our flexible pointing system is made locally in Brisbane and has been designed specifically to use in construction applications, due to its water resistance and excellent adhesion.
Here are some other benefits and features:
- Helps to eliminate leaking ridges and discoloured pointing
- Flexible to cope with the roof movement
- Helps waterproof the key tile joints
- Water wash up
- No staining by leaching cement salts
At Globalcote, we also have a spray-on solution if a faster setting time is needed because rain is imminent.
Globalpoint QuickSet can be used on surfaces after Globalpoint Flexible Pointing System has been applied.
